Steam Box To Be Center of Attention at GDC 2015

by GH Staff

After the news of Valve finally deciding on a final design for the controller that has caused countless headaches over at the development center for the Steam Box, news that they will be attending the Game Developers Conference this year soon followed.

More information has sprung up in regards to their attendance which is that Valve’s Steam Box will be placed ‘front and center’ at GDC 2015. In the hopes of bringing all the attention towards the Steam Box we could only assume that Valve has some pretty big things to announce and/or show to others who attend the conference.

All that is known at the moment is that Valve has seemingly finished with their very anticipated entry into the console wars, the Steam Box. The operating system itself, Steam OS, has been virtually functional overall and has received positive feedback with every conference Valve has attended.

The controller has seen continuous change with every showcasing of the console, and with the news of a finalized design for the controller and the importance focused on the Valve Steam Box booth, it’s easy to assume that what we should expect is an officially set release date for the console.

It has been about 2 years since the Valve first released news on them entering the console market via their Steam Box, and it is about time that those of us eagerly following the Steam Trial get an official definite release date for when we should expect to get our hand on a Steam Box.

However, I am a patient man. I will not rush a company aiming for absolute perfection.
