If you watched the Induction gameplay demo for Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, you’ll notice that the futuristic weapon which the main character used seemed to reload incredibly fast. Perhaps even impossibly fast, without a multiplayer perk to help him either. This could be due to the ammo being 3D printed.
In the setting of 2054, technology has advanced so far that grenades can be multi-purpose and soldiers can jump incredible heights with Exo suits. The guns will also look and feel futuristic and we got a look at some of those guns in the gameplay trailer from 2 days ago. In particular, some guns will have 3D printed ammo, such as the one in the gameplay trailer. According to Gameinformer, players will have access to guns such as the 3D Printer Gun (show above), which isn’t a gun made from 3D printing but instead has ammo directly printed into it. If managed correctly, players will have a near endless supply of ammo. This sounds very over the top and maybe even overpowered, but there’s sure to be some balance made to these types of guns. The technology seems quite far fetched, but Sledgehammer previously assured us that the tech isn’t all that sci-fi.
Sledgehammer Games also gives us a quick look at some more high-tech guns in the Advanced Arsenal Pre-Order Bonus trailer, which you can view below. From what we’ve seen thus far, Advanced Warfare certainly is as ambitious and creative as previously stated. We’re still waiting for the inevitable multiplayer reveal to see the future of competitive COD play. Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare launches on November 4 2014 for multiple platforms.
