Leaked Android KitKat’s 4.4.3 Update

by GH Staff

Today we go over the leaked rumored Android KitKat 4.4.3 update.

Android 4.4.3 KitKat managed to silently slip by today on Sprint’s homepage for the Google Nexus 5. Those of you who were waiting for the next version of the series will be appeased to learn that everything is running smoothly and sources are estimating that Android 4.4.3 is going to be made readily available around mid-April. Android Police commented that, “Build KTU84F will hit devices between today and April 21st. Sprint hasn’t fixed the typo on its support page, but the forum post has the build right.” Not too long to wait at all, if you’re beginning to get a little impatient for the upcoming installment. We’ve got some inside information on what to expect from the update, as well as what it might mean for other mobile models. The story relating to the launch is still developing, so give Android some time to get the details out there on their official site.

The information that was previously released to the public said Android 4.4.3 was mostly bug fixes, so good chance that it’ll be bundled in with the “Misc Android updates.” Those of you who are Sprint users will also gain access to Sprint Spark with the accessible OTA. Android Police stated that, “the device already had the hardware support for tri-band LTE, but now it’s being enabled.” So we can expect that sense of stability from the update. If the OTA breaks cover later this evening, Android Police promises that there will be a download URL for manual updates.

As for what the update entails, we’ve listed a few of the major differences that’ll make themselves known in the Android 4.4.3 launch:

  • Frequent data connection dropout fix
  • Camera focus fix
  • Power Manager display wakelock fix
  • Multiple Bluetooth fixes
  • Random reboot fix
  • USB debugging security fix
  • Wi-Fi auto-connect fix
  • Stuck in activation screen fix
  • Missed call LED fix
  • VPN fix

At the moment, there’s not a lot of certainty surrounding when other Nexus devices will be given access to 4.4.3 or other companies will be able to officially launch the software. So, sit tight and eventually it should come to your mobile device if it hasn’t done so yet. Google normally choose to give access to new Android updates during the working week rather than waiting until the weekend. There’s also the quip that the update is possibly going to be released in stages. Meaning that some users will receive the latest update first, and others might have to wait until far later. Until Google can ensured smooth delivery of the OS update, we won’t be seeing an abrupt launch of Android 4.4.3 for all Nexus models.

Don’t go into this update expecting that there’ll be an entirely new UI. Any form of primped up changes in the overall interface, or any new features that you might be anticipating, won’t be available in Android 4.4.3. There’s an assumption, however that Google might implement some new features and UI changes for the next extensive version of Android.

Feel free to leave a comment and tell us about your experience on Android 4.4.3, or what it is you’re expecting with the comprehensive launch of the subsequent release of Android OS.
