The Canada based indie development team, Kitfox Games, has announced via PlayStation Blog that thanks to a successful Kickstarter campaign, Moon Hunters will arrive on PS4 and PS Vita in late 2015.

If you’re currently unfamiliar with Moon Hunters, it is a “1-4 player, mythology-building action RPG,” set in ancient Mesopotamia. The premises of the game is that the “all-powerful’ moon has gone missing, and your character is tasked with discovering what has happened to it.

One play through of Moon Hunters is said to take only one to three hours. However, given the way that the game is meant to be played, it is insinuated that it will have a high replay value. Why? Because the world of Moon Hunters is randomly generated, changing with every play-through. Kitfox Games has stated that in order to unlock all of the character classes, biomes, and tribes, you will need to replay the game multiple times, while using a different approach each time.

Personality traits will determine your characters reputation, and how your character’s legend is shaped within the game after your play-through. Depending upon your actions, your character may even become a constellation displayed in the night sky and visable throughout all future play-throughs.

Currently the PS Vita version of the game will only offer single-player, however according to Tanya Short – former senior designer of Age of Conan and The Secret World, and current member of Kitfox Games – they will begin looking into adding ad-hoc multiplayer once they receive their development kits. As of yet, online multiplayer for the PS4 version is also not a promised feature, however the team is not yet willing to rule it out as a possible feature of the end product.
