Samsung has been the dominant player in the market of Android phones for a few good years. Huawei with its Windows phone is a new competition. So can we assume that Galaxy S5 is a better phone than Ascend W2? Let us take a closer look at both phones.
Samsung Galaxy S5
Released in earlier 2014, this phone failed to create enough hype as much as its other competitors did. On an overview we can see that not much has been added in this phone. Compared to other phones of its class, this phone has very basic features.
Design & Display
It has a better design with a classy look. At least look-wise the phone has tried to renovate. We can see that the typical design language of Samsung has been maintained as well in this phone. It has a 5.1 inch display with bright 432 pixels per inch resolution. In this phone we can see that the phone’s footprint has grown from its predecessors.
Specifications, Camera & Battery
Powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 MSM8974- A4 Quad core processor enables this phone to give a brilliant performance. The 2 GB RAM also supports its performance fully. It has a built in storage of 32 GB with up to 128 GB expandable memory slot. It has a 2800 mAh capacity battery which makes it run for hours smoothly.
Huawei Ascend W2
This is a phone based on Windows 8 OS. The specs offered by this phone are pretty decent taking into account that this is a mid budget range phone.
Design & Display
This phone portrays a perfect design. You can clearly see a flat display placed into the edgy dimensions. The 4.3 inch screen has a 213 pixel per inch resolution and thus is quite bright, even though it is almost half the resolution of that of Galaxy S5.
Specifications, Camera & Battery
This phone lacks a front camera but the rear camera is 5 mega pixels with high definition recording. The camera lacks auto focus and flash support. We get a Snapdragon 400 chipset here with 1.4 GHz Dual core processor. So we can clearly see that its capacity is almost half that of the Galaxy S5. The battery at 1700 mAh is too low for the phone as well.
Overall
We have to concur that the Huawei Ascend W2 is not good value for money. It is better to go for Samsung Galaxy S5 even it if you have to spend a few more bucks on it.
