Cheap Pioneer Pack Revealed for Eternal Crusade

Founder packs (and similar incentives) are typically associated with big, ambitious games that are currently being developed, and are typically very, very expensive.

Like with similar deals available to big crowd-sourced games such as Star Citizen and Elite: Dangerous, the developer behind Warhammer 40,000: Eternal Crusade, Behaviour Interactive, has also made its own founder packs available for those willing to support the game’s development, ranging from $40 to $450 (which went live in June, according to Massively).

Now, as detailed in a press release, it seems that Behaviour Interactive have put forward another founder pack (or “pioneer pack”) with a much cheaper price tag. This new pioneer pack option will only set you back just $15, an option that’s aimed at players “who want to contribute to the founder’s program […] without as much of an investment,” accoding to Behaviour Interactives’ Miguel Caron.

According to MassivelyWarhammer 40,000: Eternal Crusade’s planned hybrid business model will reportedly restrict free-to-play players to the Ork faction, a race within the Warhammer 40,000 universe. Pioneer packs allegedly “extend the Ork experience” with perks, which include an Ork-only character slot among other things, as well as an opportunity to pay for access into Warhammer 40,000: Eternal Crusade’s game module that’s planned for early-2015.

In comparison, founder packs, which are more expensive than the pioneer pack, offer more character slots and access to all of the game’s playable factions, not just Orks.
