Mighty No. 9

In a new years celebration video posted by Mighty No. 9 developers Comcept, lead producer Keiji Inafune has stated that Mighty No. 9 is nearing the end of its development. In fact, Keiji Inafune specifically stated that the game is ‘pretty much finished’ with the remaining work going into promotional work and console ports of the game. This is fantastic news for backers and gamers who have been eagerly waiting for the games release since its inception via Kickstarter back in August 2013. You can check out the full video below.

Mighty No. 9 has had extensive hype surrounding it ever since its original announcement. The game was one of the most successful Kickstarter projects ever, with it making its target goal in two days and making 400% more than its target goal after a month. Mega Man creator Keiji Inafune is leading the project, and the game is a spiritual successor to the early Mega Man games.

In Mighty No. 9 you play as an android named Beck. Beck is the ninth android from a set of androids called the ‘Mighty Number’. During the game, a virus attacks and alters all of Becks comrades. It’s up to you as Beck to stop the rogue androids and save the world.

No official release date has been announced for Mighty No. 9, but with Keiji Inafune stating the game is nearly complete, we can expect a release very soon.
