Tactical RPG fans have a date to circle: Solasta 2 will receive its first major early access update on September 10, bringing the warlock class, four-player co-op multiplayer, and a host of quality-of-life improvements. The headline addition is the warlock, a spellcasting class that joins the existing roster of fighter, wizard, rogue, cleric, paladin, and sorcerer. Two new subclasses come with it: the timekeeper, which can buff allies to act faster and rob enemies of their reactions, and the dreamer, which controls nightmares and can inflict exhaustion or put enemies to sleep. These options give players more tactical variety in combat, a core pillar of the Solasta experience.
Multiplayer is the other major pillar of this update. Up to four players can join a single session, either starting a fresh campaign or hopping into one already in progress. The host can assign an existing character to a new player, allow them to bring their own, or create a new one on the spot. Control of companions can also be split among players as the party grows. To keep everyone on the same page, the game will feature a voting system for major story and dialogue choices, plus a new ping system for communication.
New Customization and Quality-of-Life Features
Beyond the new class and multiplayer, Update 1 expands character creation with more hairstyles, tattoos, warpaint, and beards. Players who prefer a more randomized approach can now roll their stats randomly. The update also makes spell component rules optional, letting players choose between strict adherence to the rulebook or a simpler system.
Exploration gets a boost with roughly 30 additional world events to discover. Cloud saves are being added, and controller users will gain a way to switch into cautious mode mid-game. These features aim to smooth out the early access experience and give players more control over how they play.
What’s Next After Update 1
Tactical Adventures has already outlined the next milestone. The update following September 10 is scheduled for the last quarter of the year and will add another class, two more ancestries, the start of act two, an increased level cap, and a crafting system. This roadmap suggests a steady cadence of content drops as the game continues its early access journey.
