Turn 10 Studios has confirmed that Forza Horizon 6’s first Premium Expansion will launch on Steam on January 21, 2027. The date was announced on October 8, 2026 through the official Forza Horizon Steam community announcements hub. The expansion marks the first of two Premium Expansions planned for the open-world racer, whose Forza Horizon 6’s Japan setting draws on real-world landmarks across the map.
Expansion access and the second Premium Expansion
The first Premium Expansion will be included at no additional cost with the Forza Horizon 6 Premium Edition, the Premium Upgrade, and the Expansions Bundle. Players who own any of those three products will receive the expansion without making a separate purchase. The expansion will also be available to purchase separately, which gives players who do not own the Premium Edition, the Premium Upgrade, or the Expansions Bundle a way to buy the content on its own. A second Premium Expansion will become available at a later date, and Turn 10 Studios confirmed that it will also be included with the Premium Edition, Premium Upgrade, and Expansions Bundle. No release date has been announced for that second expansion.
What the Premium Upgrade includes
Upgrading the base game to the Forza Horizon 6 Premium Edition through the Premium Upgrade grants immediate access to all content released so far. That access covers the Car Pass, the Time Attack and Italian Passion Car Packs, VIP Membership, and the Welcome Pack. The Premium Upgrade requires Forza Horizon 6, sold separately, and it is the route for current owners of the base game to add the Premium Edition’s extras and the upcoming expansion. The first Premium Expansion is one of those extras, so players who apply the Premium Upgrade will receive it on January 21, 2027 without an additional charge. Forza Horizon 6’s recent Horizon Meets update added a 7-Eleven storefront, a Car Meet, and real-world perks to the game.
What comes next
Playground Games and Turn 10 Studios say to stay tuned for more details about the upcoming expansion closer to its availability. The announcement did not include a separate price for the first Premium Expansion, and it did not attach a release date to the second Premium Expansion beyond its later availability. Turn 10 Studios has not yet detailed what the expansion will add to Forza Horizon 6’s open world.
