Jackbox Games has revealed two of the five games coming to The Jackbox Party Pack 12, which is set to launch on October 15, 2026. The announcement, made via Steam News, introduces Hyperface, described as the first photo-editing party game in the franchise’s history, and Debate & Switch, a town hall-style argument game. Both titles support up to eight players, continuing the series’ tradition of accommodating large groups. The news was reported by Cgmagonline.
The reveal gives fans their first concrete look at what the twelfth entry in the long-running party game series will offer. With the October release date now confirmed, Jackbox Games is rolling out details on the pack’s lineup, which also includes Idol Factions, We Forgot a Card!, and MegaPals. The new games emphasize creative expression and social interaction, building on the series’ established formula of using phones as controllers.
Hyperface: The First Photo-Editing Party Game
Hyperface is positioned as a unique addition to the Jackbox catalog, marking the first time the series has featured a photo-editing game. Up to eight players compete against each other to answer absurd prompts using either their own selfies or a variety of stock images. The game provides a suite of editing tools, including smudging, growing, shrinking, drawing, and makeup options, allowing players to warp and customize images in creative ways.
The structure of Hyperface includes a final round where players can either re-edit their earlier submission or start fresh with a new picture to edit. This mechanic is designed to give players a second chance to refine their creations or pivot their strategy entirely. The game’s focus on visual humor and manipulation of photos represents a notable departure from the text-based and drawing games that have historically defined the Jackbox series.
Debate & Switch: A Town Hall Argument Game
Debate & Switch takes a different approach, centering on structured arguments in a town hall setting. Up to eight players participate, with one player selected as mayor to submit a prompt for the others to debate. Each debater is given 30 seconds to argue for or against the topic, creating a fast-paced exchange of ideas and persuasion.
The game introduces a twist after the first round: all players must swap one word in the topic. This mechanic forces debaters to adapt their arguments on the fly, as the subject of the debate shifts mid-game. The audience, presumably the remaining players, then decides which side was more persuasive. This format encourages quick thinking and verbal creativity, distinguishing it from the drawing and trivia games that dominate the rest of the pack.
Full Lineup and Platform Availability
Beyond the two newly revealed games, The Jackbox Party Pack 12 will include three additional titles. Idol Factions has two teams racing to sort answers into correct categories, while We Forgot a Card! tasks players with crafting ridiculous greeting cards for weird occasions, with the option to purchase them in real life. MegaPals brings players together to answer questions and earn points for matching with others, with the two most compatible players crowned the new King of Friendship.
The pack will launch on Nintendo Switch and Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, iPad, the Mac App Store, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store. This broad platform support ensures the game reaches the series’ established audience across consoles and mobile devices. The October 15 release date places the launch in the fall window, aligning with the holiday season when party games traditionally see increased demand.
The combination of photo editing and debate mechanics suggests Jackbox Games is experimenting with new formats while retaining the social party structure that has made the series a staple of game nights. With the full lineup now known, fans have a clear picture of what to expect when the pack arrives this October.
