Legends of Starkadia is a 2026 RPG from Doom Turtle, the studio also known for Ember Knights. That action rogue-lite launched in 2023, while the developer’s newer project uses turn-based combat alongside quick-time events.
According to Doom Turtle’s Steam announcement, the studio had been preparing to end further work on Legends of Starkadia. Moving to a low-cost paid release gives the developer a way to assess demand before deciding whether to continue beyond the content it now calls Chapter 1.
The game had 19 Steam reviews at the time covered by the source report, and all 19 were positive. The report noted praise for the animation style and the game’s potential. It also stated that many of those reviews were posted before Doom Turtle disclosed that development could continue through the paid-model experiment.
The review total represents only a small early sample, but the unanimously positive result provides context for the developer’s decision to test whether a larger audience will support more work. It does not, however, confirm that the planned 11 planets will be produced. Doom Turtle has made their development dependent on sufficient community interest following the September 14 transition.
