Palworld Version 1.1 Will Add a Major Fan-Requested Feature

Pocketpair says Palworld Version 1.1 includes a major feature requested by players, although its identity and release timing remain undisclosed.

Pocketpair has confirmed that Palworld Version 1.1 will introduce a substantial feature that players have requested for some time. The studio is keeping the feature itself secret, leaving the central addition to the patch unidentified. The details come from comments that Pocketpair publishing and communications lead John “Bucky” Buckley made in an interview with GamesRadar+.

Publishing and communications lead John “Bucky” Buckley described it as a “big specific feature” requested “for a while.” Version 1.1 will be smaller in overall scope than the game’s full 1.0 release, but the planned addition gives players a concrete reason to watch for further details.

Pocketpair has not committed to a release date or even a release window for Version 1.1.

Pocketpair is keeping the requested feature secret

Buckley began discussing Version 1.1 publicly in mid-August 2026, when he shared a photo from a brainstorming session concerning Palworld’s next major release. He also invited players to submit ideas for additions they wanted to see.

That request attracted an estimated 1,700 responses within one day. The volume of suggestions prompted Buckley to establish boundaries around what Pocketpair intends to tackle. Proposals such as another continent or 20 additional levels were identified as being well beyond the plans for Version 1.1.

The feature Pocketpair selected is more focused, although apparently important enough to have been considered before. According to Buckley’s explanation, the studio discussed including it in Version 1.0 but ultimately decided against doing so. Pocketpair already had numerous objectives for the full release and determined that adding another major element could interfere with that work.

For now, Pocketpair has provided no description that would reliably identify the feature. Any specific prediction about what it might be would therefore be unsupported by the announcement.

Version 1.1 will have a smaller overall scope

Although its mystery addition has been described as significant, Version 1.1 is being designed on a much smaller overall scale than Version 1.0. Buckley said the studio was “not planning to spend a year” developing the update, again pointing to new continents and large level-cap increases as examples of requests outside its intended scope.

That distinction sets practical expectations for the patch. Version 1.1 is not being presented as another overhaul comparable to the full release. Instead, Pocketpair is concentrating on a more limited update built around at least one notable player-requested addition.

The approach follows Pocketpair’s post-launch update pattern. The developer issued Palworld’s first post-1.0 patch in mid-July 2026, followed by further fixes and balance adjustments during August. Pocketpair’s comments make clear that Version 1.1 remains narrower than the full 1.0 release.

Palworld 1.0 established a much larger baseline

Palworld 1.0 launched on July 10, 2026, following more than two years in early access. The full release added 72 Pals and expanded the creature roster to 287. It also introduced Sunreach and the World Tree alongside the Awakening and Mutation mechanics.

Pocketpair used the release to rework Palworld’s story and main missions while overhauling systems including base building and multiplayer. That breadth explains why Version 1.0 serves as an important contrast when the studio describes the reduced scale of Version 1.1.

The open-world survival shooter is developed and published by Pocket Pair, Inc. Its ESRB classification is T for Teen due to violence.

The larger Palworld story remains open

Buckley has said Pocketpair internally views Version 1.0 as a “soft prologue.” Reaching the World Tree and resolving the events connected to it does not conclude the game’s broader story, and the studio is considering where the narrative should go next.

With no release window and no confirmed description of the addition, the firm details remain deliberately limited: the patch will be smaller than Version 1.0, it will exclude expansion-scale requests such as a new continent, and it will contain a specific feature that players have repeatedly requested.
