Serenity Forge revealed Faraday Blues with a world premiere during the Xbox Tokyo Game Show 2026 broadcast. The surreal sci-fi adventure is coming to Xbox Series X|S and PC in 2027 with Xbox Cloud support, and it can be wishlisted now. Zhenghua Yang, founder of Serenity Forge and game director, detailed the project on Xbox Wire.
A Girl, a Tabletop, and Two Familiar Faces
Players control Lina, a mysterious girl who awakens somewhere she does not understand. An old computer introduces her to a strange tabletop filled with playing cards, and two of those cards bear the faces of her parents. They have no idea who she is, and their lives are already filled with tragedy. Lina resets the board and tries again.
Every card represents a person. The game is built around a 52-card deck containing characters, memories, items, and pieces of the Faraday family’s history. Players place character cards into conversations, locations, and major events, then enter the timeline and experience the consequences of their choices.
Order, Entropy, and a Rule About Being Everywhere
Characters can move toward Order or Entropy, change suits, transform shapes, and develop in ways that affect future possibilities, with changes that can persist. A core rule is that people cannot be everywhere at once. Sending someone into one interaction may leave them occupied when the next major event occurs.
Faraday Blues is three interconnected visual novels, three visual realities, and three tragedies across three different eras of the Faraday family. Each reality has its own visual identity, atmosphere, narrative style, and version of the apartment. Choices in the first visual novel change the board in the second, and relationships, memories, items, character states, and endings propagate forward through time.
There are 64 endings. Some can be victories, but most are not, and certain paths only become possible once the player has learned enough about the people involved to manipulate the timeline. The structure places it alongside other narrative-driven indie games and visual novels that have recently reached consoles, such as Saccharine Echo and Steins;Gate Re:Boot.
The Creative Team Behind the Three Realities
Co-creator and lead artist is Satchely, the character artist of Doki Doki Literature Club. Narrative director is Kevin Ye. Kris Wilson, creator of Cyanide & Happiness, is composing music for the game. Nichole Goodnight, the voice of Slay the Princess, is part of the voice cast, with more actors to be revealed later.
