Cerberax, the three-headed creature coming to ARK: Survival Ascended through the Fantastic Tames Season 1 DLC line, will not join a tribe after a single show of force. In the latest Community Crunch, titled “Three of a Kind,” Studio Wildcard explained that taming the beast means earning three separate votes, one from each of its heads, before it will finally join a tribe. The creature arrives for Fantastic Tames Season 1 owners on September 30.
Three Heads, Three Personalities
The first Cerberax reveal focused on some of the ways its three heads can work together in battle. This follow-up gets better acquainted with the personalities behind all those teeth and what it takes to win them over. Each head holds a very different opinion about whether a Survivor is worth following, so winning every one of them over takes its own approach.
The Three Taming Trials
Taming a Cerberax means passing three distinct trials. One head respects a Survivor who will not back down, so players should be ready to wrestle for control. Another becomes considerably more open to negotiations when food is involved. The third sometimes bonds best through a good old-fashioned hunt. Meet each head on its own terms, and Cerberax will finally join your tribe. As the announcement puts it, the process comes down to one tame, three trials, and no majority rule.
September 30 Arrival
Cerberax lands on September 30 alongside other additions for the game. The same day brings the Therizinosaurus TLC and the insatiable Gargantar, while the upgrade to Unreal Engine 5.8 also arrives for ARK: Survival Ascended. Studio Wildcard had already detailed that September update, and Fantastic Tames Season 1 owners will pick the creature up in the same drop.
Fan Content Guidelines Updated
Beyond the creature news, Studio Wildcard updated the ARK Fan Content Guidelines to make the rules around creating, sharing, and monetizing fan content clearer. The biggest change is around video monetization, with updated guidance that allows creators to offer paid access to ARK video content through platforms like Patreon and YouTube memberships, as long as the outlined conditions are followed.
