Upgrade your battery at a Crystal Refinery by trading 100 Crystallized Charges per Energy Well, and Crystallized Charges cost 3 Zonaite each at a Forge Construct. The Energy Cell powers every Zonai Device you build, and a Steward Construct gives you the cell itself after the In-isa Shrine. Capacity only grows through Energy Wells, and Wells come only from the refineries.

Zonaite comes from Zonaite Deposits, which sit almost exclusively in the Depths, appear in large quantities inside Monster Outposts, and ride on the backs of Froxes. The same ore also feeds Autobuild and buys Zonai Charges, Ancient Blades, and equipment, so plan your spending before you trade.
Where the refineries and forges are
Two Crystal Refineries exist. One sits near Nachoyah Shrine on the Great Sky Island. The other sits between Lookout Landing and the Hyrule Castle Town Ruins. A Steward Construct staffs each one, and that construct performs the Well trade.
Buy charges at Forge Constructs inside Abandoned Mines in the Depths, and at the Mining Cave on the Great Sky Island. Large Crystallized Charges are sold at Abandoned Mines.
How much battery you can get
The Energy Cell has eight slots. Link starts with three Wells installed, which fills one slot. You can add 45 more Wells, for a total of 48. Once 24 Wells are installed the cell is full. Any further Wells turn the existing green Wells blue, so each one can be used twice before running dry. That is the only way to push past a full cell.
Where it goes wrong
- Confusing Zonai Charges with Crystallized Charges. A Zonai Charge (2 Zonaite) only restores one Energy Well’s worth of charge, and a Large Zonai Charge restores three. They never add capacity.
- Trying to trade Zonaite straight for a Well. Refineries take Crystallized Charges only, so buy charges at a Forge Construct first.
- Not finding the second refinery. It sits between Lookout Landing and the Hyrule Castle Town Ruins, not inside either location.
FAQ
Can I buy Crystallized Charges with anything other than Zonaite?
No. The Forge Construct price is three Zonaite per Crystallized Charge, and three Large Zonaite per Large Crystallized Charge.
Do blue Wells change the cost of the next Well?
No. Each Energy Well still costs 100 Crystallized Charges at a Crystal Refinery.
Where do I get the Energy Cell in the first place?
