SNK will release Kim Kaphwan for Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves on September 24, 2026, as the next Season 3 DLC fighter. The announcement details the taekwondo master’s return.
Kim debuted in Fatal Fury 2 in 1992. SNK also published official character trailers for the announcement. June Yoon voices Kim in English, while Kunihiro Kawamoto provides his Japanese voice.
The announcement follows earlier developer interview coverage of returning players and new content.
Kim reunites with his sons in new story content
City of the Wolves marks the first game in which Kim is playable alongside both of his sons, Dong Hwan and Jae Hoon. SNK describes Dong Hwan and Jae Hoon as fighters who have now come into their own.
Kim also receives a new solo RPG episode in Episodes of South Town. After returning to South Town following a long absence, he visits Tizoc, who helped guide Dong Hwan and Jae Hoon while Kim was away. The episode then brings the three members of the Kim family together as the sons share long-held feelings with their father.
His Arcade story follows a different route. Kim continues his daily training and returns to KOF to prove his strength and convictions in battle. SNK presents Arcade and Episodes of South Town as separate story modes.
Tokyo Game Show attendees can play Kim early
Tokyo Game Show 2026 attendees can play Kim before his scheduled DLC release. The demo will be available at the CFD Sales, also identified as Crowxis, booth 01-C13 in Hall 1 at Makuhari Messe.
The event’s business days are September 17 and September 18, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Public days run from September 19 through September 21. Hours are 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on September 19 and 20, and 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on September 21. A ticket is required for entry, with admission details available through the official Tokyo Game Show website.
Kim is part of the seven-fighter Season Pass 3
Season Pass 3 costs $19.99 or €19.99 and contains seven fighters. SNK lists Rick Strowd, Duck King, Kim Kaphwan, Manjiro Sano, Ken Ryuguji and Laocorn, plus one fighter that remains unannounced. Its schedule assigns availability months from August through December 2026 and warns that the Season 3 DLC schedule may change without prior notice.
The announcement page lists individual $4.99 or €4.99 prices only for fighters from Seasons 1 and 2; it does not give an individual price for Kim or another Season 3 fighter.
The game’s supported-platform list names PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, Steam and the Epic Games Store. SNK lists digital and physical formats separately and gives later availability dates for some Nintendo Switch 2 packages, so the platform list does not establish one release schedule for every edition.
