TVGS has released the v0.4.7 Open Beta for Schedule 1, the open-world drug-dealing simulation from the solo developer. The update adds four special customer groups, a rebuilt avatar appearance system, and a save format change that affects players who switch back to the default branch of the game.
Save Format Change for Player Appearances
The way player appearances are saved has changed. Playing an existing save automatically converts legacy appearances to the new save format. If a player switches back to the default version of the game after playing this beta, appearances converted to the new format will not load properly.
Special Customer Groups and New NPC Behaviours
Four special customer groups join the game: Hippies, Party Bus, Businessmen, and Bikers. New NPC behaviours for these customers include talking on the phone, using a laptop, sitting on the ground, dancing, peeing, vomiting, boinking, and revving motorcycles. Hyland Medical now has an interior and is a purchasable business.
New purchasable items include black rubber mats in 1×1, 2×2, and 4×4 sizes from the hardware store and a Persian rug from Bleuball’s Boutique. New clothing and accessories include aviators, glasses, a beer hat, jet and Panzer helmets, bandanas, ties, a leather jacket, tie-dye shirts, and a Molerats jersey. New hairstyles include “The businessman”, poofy wavey, and long wavey, along with chevron, swirly, and biker mustaches. New teleport locations are southoverpass, suburbia, park, westville, and casino, and a new “queuecustomergroup” command is added.
Rebuilt Avatar System and Business Tweaks
The avatar appearance system has been rebuilt from scratch for clothing, hairstyles, and body shape to support user-created cosmetics coming in a future update. Business laundering capacities are raised: the post office from 4000 to 5000, car wash from 6000 to 8000, and Taco Ticklers from 8000 to 12000. The corporate plaza is bigger, NPC schedules for the Hyland Medical interior are modified, and ragdoll physics are improved. Icon generation is optimized to save several hundred megabytes of memory in late-game saves.
Schedule 1 remains in Steam Early Access as this beta rolls out, a trajectory shared by other simulator hits like TCG Card Shop Simulator, which GamerHeadlines covered when it shipped its 1.0 update in August.
Bug Fixes
The update fixes physics props falling out of sync in multiplayer, dress shoes clipping with feet, and NPC-driven vehicles failing to detect obstacles. Other fixes cover a tree rendering rounding issue, the “I’m stuck” button teleporting vehicles to the wrong spot in the prologue, and several hairstyles clipping with hats.
