War Thunder Community Update No.13 Reveals Next Major Update and Q4 Events

Gaijin details the next major update and Q4 event calendar in War Thunder Community Update No.13, including login streak Freezes and new vehicles.

Contents

Gaijin published War Thunder Community Update No.13 on October 15, 2026, outlining the next major update and the remaining fourth quarter event calendar. The roadmap includes a new login streak Freeze feature, vehicle additions, cockpit and weapon changes, map reworks, and events into January 2027.

The login streak Freeze automatically preserves a player’s streak on missed days and will be available to everyone by default.

Gaijin did not set a release date for the next major update, and all listed work is subject to change, delay, or cancellation. The Student Pilot decal also returns with code STUDENTPILOT, redeemable on the Gaijin account page until October 30 at 10:00 GMT under Decals, Special, Other.

Login Streak Freeze and How It Works

Players collect one Freeze per 12 days of logging in, up to a maximum of 30 per account. Logging in daily for 6 months yields 15 Freezes. If a player takes a two-week vacation, Freezes are consumed automatically and the streak resumes where it left off.

Vehicles, Cockpits, and Weapons in the Next Major Update

On the ground, China gets the ZBD04 IFV, France adds the Dutch Cheetah PRTL to its SPAA line, and Japan receives a Thai Firefly Mk 1 and an Indonesian Avia B-33 for ground attack.

The French SE.203 Aquilon 203 gets its fully updated cockpit now. Ground maps Sun City and American Desert receive visual reworks.

Japan gets the GCS-1, a self-guided bomb that locks onto large heat-emitting targets such as ships within IR range. It releases as a free-fall bomb, then activates a search mode and locks autonomously. Gaijin calls this a new guidance type.

Man-in-the-Loop guidance for helicopters arrives this major update. It applies to AH-64E Apache variants for the United States, Britain, Japan, France, and China, the AH-64D-I Seraph via SPIKE NLOS, the French EC-665 Tiger HAD Block 2, the AH-129D, the H145M, and the Israeli AH-60 via SPIKE ER. Gaijin is considering raising the battle rating of all helicopters with the feature, and the aiming system is being refined to let players adjust the point of aim mid-flight.

The WE177A British free-fall nuclear bomb comes to Nuclear Escalation on the Tornado GR.1, the last nuclear bomb used by the RAF. The Sea Venom anti-ship missile is work-in-progress for the Wildcat HMA.2, carrying up to four in place of Martlet and SPIKE missiles, with an IR seeker and Man-in-the-Loop datalink. Gaijin says it may arrive in the next major update or the one after.

Aster-30 PIF-PAF side directional thrusters improve terminal-phase maneuverability for SAMP/T systems in a future update this year, perhaps not this one. Cluster bombs arrive as an entirely new weapon type, with details later. They are anti-tank area weapons exclusive to Air Battles, primarily for Nuclear Escalation, and not available in standard Ground Battles.

The Mosquito fighter-bombers receive a new wing-mounted bomb rack for 250lb and 500lb bombs. The Martlet Mk IV on the British Wildcat receives RP-3 rocket racks.
