According to estimates from Robert W. Baird & Co. analyst Colin Sebastian, Titanfall is expected to reach 2.4 million copies shipped during the fourth fiscal quarter for Electronic Arts, the quarter in which we are currently residing in. In total, Titanfall is expected to ship 6 million copies throughout this entire year, 2014. While speaking during an industry note, Sebastian discussed his meetings with the heads of EA, saying:

“Near term, we are adjusting estimates to assume 2.4 million sell-in of Titanfall in F4Q with CY2014 total shipments of 6 million units.”

“Our cautious view of EA in prior years was originally based on inconsistent financial performance, and a comparatively inefficient cost structure. In becoming more constructive on the stock earlier in 2013, we recognized management’s renewed focus on expense management together with a more realistic approach to guidance. Moreover, EA has now achieved a number of important financial, product and executive milestones, and we believe is generally on a better course.”

Sebastian believes EA’s FY15 guidance will be “overshadowed” by declining current-gen software. However, EA’s “broad support for next-gen consoles,” puts the publisher in a great position for sales to rise should the consoel sales increase as well. Titanfall’s 6 million copies expected will come with time.

Titanfall launched this week on PC and Xbox One, and so far people love it. 6 million copies within its first year should be no trouble at all. What are your thoughts on the game?
