Watch Dogs’ creative director Jonathan Morin has revealed recently revealed that all areas of Chicago will be accessible to players without needing to be unlocked through story events. Asked if Watch Dogs would follow in the likes of Grand Theft Auto and Ubisoft’s own Assassin’s Creed, both of which see certain parts of the game world blocked off until later in the story, he commented:
@MadsDroger No, Chicago is free of access like a normal city. But you need to work to monitor it all…

Morin also revealed that while some in-game events such as Potential Crimes “are endless” this won’t always be the case and you’ll need to work hard to tackle everything Watch Dogs has to offer. Earlier today we reported on comments Morin made over the weekend which revealed that the game, which was originally due for release last November, will take the average player between 35 and 40 hours to complete while there’s around 100 hours of content in all.
Watch Dogs is set to launch on PC, PlayStation 3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One on May 27th with the Wii U version scheduled for an unannounced later date.
