Titanfall Anti-Cheat Measures Are On The Way

by GH Staff
Titanfall anti-cheat measures are on the way.

It may come as no surprise, but Titanfall has already been invaded by hackers. In fact, cheaters were showing up with aim-assist and “aimbot” software as early as the open-Beta held last month. Respawn Entertainment Software Engineer Jon Shiring confirmed via Twitter that the Titanfall next-gen developer is currently working on an anti-cheat system, but it has yet to be implemented into the game:

As Titanfall is a multiplayer-only game with no offline options, it would seem beneficiary to have anti-cheat security already embedded within the title at launch. Doing so would ensure a fair and enjoyable experience for all players. While Respawn developers have been active in the servers, logging members that are caught cheating, hackers are still slipping through the cracks. Naturally, fans weren’t too pleased with the idea that anti-cheat measures have not been added into Titanfall yet; a handful of them took to Twitter to vent their frustrations:

Titanfall may not have anywhere near as many problems as the previous EA-published FPS Battlefield 4, but some players have been reporting connectivity issues across both platforms. For PC, several Origin titles already use PunkBuster as a means of anti-cheat tactics; Crysis and the Battlefield series are some notable examples. Respawn Entertainment has yet to comment on why Titanfall was released without any form of anti-cheating and anti-hacking measures.

Those of you who are currently playing Titanfall, have any of you come across cheaters or hackers? Do you see it as a problem that hinders the entire game-experience? Leave your comments and thoughts below!
