The Sims 4, has an official release date

[dropcap size=dropcap]S[/dropcap]everal months ago, Electronic Arts made two big announcements. The first was referring to their new partnership with Disney, a partnership that will bring us some new Star Wars related games. For the Sims series fans however, the other announcement was the most important one: EA Games is preparing to release Sims 4. The game is still in development at the Maxis studios but now, it has an official release date. Until now, the franchise sold more than 150 millions units to gamers from all around the world. No wonder that Sims 4 is such big news…

Unlike the more recent title SimCity, The Sims 4 will focus on the offline single player experience. Users will be able to create and customize their own games and worlds through the in-game tools that will be made ​​available for them in Sims 4. The online multiplayer mode will be missing but gamers will still be able to log in order to share some of their creations with friends and fans of The Sims universe.

 The Sims 4 official release date

Electronic Arts announced that The Sims 4 will be released worldwide during next year’s fall (2014). As we have said before, unlike in other Sims games, The Sims 4 player will not be required to stay online during the game.

While the official release date is set in 2014’s fall, The Sims 4 will be available for both, PCs and Macs. Those who are preordering the game will receive The Sims 4 Limited Edition, which will include the expansion pack Life of The Party.

The Sims is a video game series developed by Maxis and published by Electronic Arts. It is one of the most successful video game series of all time. Until April 16, 2008, the franchise has sold more than 100 million copies worldwide, and on March 19, 2008, it became the best-selling PC franchise in history.

The Sims games have no objectives, nor stories. The player creates virtual people called “Sims” placing them in homes and helping them to develop and evolve.
