OUYA, the affordable Android based gaming system, will soon have its operating system and store available on other devices.
In a recent interview with Digital Spy, Zak Phelps talked about plans move the store to more convenient devices. Within just six months, he hopes that downloading OUYA games will “be as simple as a store that you can install onto your [Android] device.”
“That way if you want to install onto a tablet you can, under some very specific guidelines about here’s the types of things it’ll work with and won’t work with.”
Although specific platforms for OUYA’s store were not mentioned, Phelps said that is “in our best interest to provide our developers with the widest base possible.”
This is great news for anyone who hasn’t gotten a chance to go out and buy an OUYA system yet. Fans of indie games will now be able to fill up their phones with all the exclusive games OUYA has to offer. From the puzzler Polarity to the addictive TowerFall, fans will be having a lot of fun.
This is also great news for OUYA. With the console not being able to compete with Sony or Microsoft, despite its super affordable price, this could be prove to be a huge financial boost for the company. What are your thoughts on this? Any OUYA games YOU want to get? Let us know below!
