PlayStation Plus April Preview: What to Expect this Coming Month

PlayStation Plus

The folks at PlayStation Plus announced their arsenal for the rapidly encroaching April debut earlier today, and the star of this show is no doubt Batman: Arkham City. All PlayStation Plus members will be getting their daily dose of Batman for free come April 1, 2014. Which is a tremendous deal, considering the buzz beginning to retaliate from the accumulating information surrounding Batman: Arkham Knight that’ll also be available later this year. So now would be a great time to relive some of your Batman nostalgia, there’s no better way to prepare for the release of a well-awaited game then revisiting the series’ most acclaimed predecessors. But if the Batman isn’t necessarily the spark in your heart, or the skip in your step; don’t despair– the folks at PlayStation have a little something for everyone. Here’s some of the games that players can definitely expect to see appear in the next few weeks as we wrap-up March and prepare for a brand-new month.

Batman: Arkham City for PlayStation Plus

  • Batman: Arkham City (PS3)

We’ve already gone over this one, but the team at PlayStation are definitely riding the hype for Batman: Arkham Knight. It’s also a great starting point to get the feel of Arkham City if you haven’t previously gotten into any of the prior games in the franchise. If you’re definitely looking forward to the release of Arkham Knight, this’ll prove to be a good jumping point to master the mechanics and get a grasp for the former storyline. Definitely worth some consideration, at least.

  • Mercenary Kings (PS4)

Join your friends in a drastic 2-D world as a pact of mercenaries with the ambition to take down an entire organization. This’ll be your go-to if you’re looking for something a little more substantial and access to online multi-player. The capabilities sound promising, and it’ll definitely have some replay value attached.

  • Stealth Inc. A Clone in the Dark (PS3)

An interesting twist on the stealth options for PlayStation Plus’ reveal.  There’s around eighty levels, no armor or weapons allowed. You’ll have to sneak, evade traps, and attempt to make it out alive from this challenging maze. No doubt it’ll devour a lot of your time, but with a name like Stealth Inc. it better have some demanding stealth mechanics connected to it.

  • Castle of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse (PS3)

A very straight-forward take on action-adventure game, the only unique selling point is that it’s lead by everyone’s favorite Disney icon. Join the entourage of Mickey Mouse as he traverses through enchanted terrors, and interesting gameplay in his quest to save Minnie Mouse from the Castle of Illusion.

  • Velocity Ultra and Pixeljunk Monsters Ultimate HD (PS Vita)

If you’re more of a handheld console sort of person, there’s two unique installments that’ll be attainable for the PS Vita. Velocity Ultra has already made quite the impression with it’s GDC coverage on the impending sequel; precluding the alpha footage for Velocity 2x that’ll be made available sometime in the near future. In addition to that, Pixeljunk Monsters Ultimate HD is also part of the PS Vita package, so you can look forward to that bundle.
