Battlefield 4: Naval Strike released last week for Premium members on every platform, with the exceptions being PC and Xbox One, as both were delayed due to technical difficulties. The Xbox One version suffered only a minor delay, as it released on March 27. According to Battlelog, Naval Strike released today for PC, and is now available for Premium players.
March 25 was the original listed release date for the water-based Battlefield 4 multiplayer expansion. While Naval Strike was released for PS3, PS4 and Xbox 360, DICE and EA announced the day before that the Xbox One and PC versions would face a delay. The original Battlelog post states that the pre-release version of Naval Strike on PC, combined with future updates, may have led to more “performance issues on mid-range to high-end PCs”. The Xbox One version had errors involving model animations, which would “hinder players from engaging targets in set circumstances using popular weapon configurations”. DICE announced that both versions would hopefully release sometime in early April; fortunately, both versions are already out, and ready for downloading.
Naval Strike adds the Battlefield 2142-influenced Carrier Assault mode, along with four new maps, and a multitude of new gadgets and weapons to add to the player’s arsenal. As with previous Battlefield 4 DLC expansions, Naval Strike will release for non-Premium players in 2 weeks.
