After a few delays and some secrecy, the highly anticipated Watch Dogs is finally coming on May 27. As Ubisoft’s new IP is now available to pre-order on Steam, the official minimum and recommended system specifications have been revealed.
According to the Steam page, Watch Dogs doesn’t require much to run as far as bare essentials go; the open-world techno-thriller needs at least Windows Vista (Service Pack 2), an Intel Core 2 Quad Q8400 2.66 Ghz processor, a DirectX 11-enabled GPU. and 25GB for the install. On the recommended side of things however, Watch Dogs suggests that users have an Eight Core Intel 17-3770, which ranks among the higher-end gaming CPU chips. Apart from the recommended CPU, even the recommended specifications aren’t asking for much. However, it’s noted in both listings that Watch Dogs will only support 64-bit versions of Windows. While the prices have significantly dropped compared to previous versions, a 64-bit version of Windows 8.1 costs somewhere around $70-80.
Steam is currently offering a Deluxe Edition, containing an extra skin, 4 extra missions for an additional hour of gameplay, and extra vehicle and hacking boosts. Watch Dogs releases on May 27 for PC, 360, Xbox One, PS3 and PS4. The Wii U version has not been cancelled, and is set to release sometime later this year.
