With Dark Souls 2’s PC release a few weeks away, it’s no surprise that the leaks have begun. Reddit user SirDingleberries has posted what looks to be the graphical options available in the upcoming version of the title.
Rumors will be rumors, but this one seems to have a real chance, with reports of press builds being out since Thursday of last week. And for a tad bit more credibility, creator of the popular graphical mod for Dark Souls PC, DSFix, weighed in on the screenshot on NeoGAF, stating, “Those settings look very real. And almost exactly what I expected.” He went on to praise the developers, adding, “Well done From (if true). I’d have liked more SSAO control than “on” and “off”, and higher quality AA options, but those aren’t generally that hard to fix.”
From Software can only hope that these settings will be enough to satisfy the PC crowd. Perhaps another DSFix-esque mod won’t be necessary, aside from the tweak mentioned earlier, as they seem to be stepping up to the plate this time around. One can only hope they’ll put the effort into making Dark Souls 2’s release worthy of PC standards.
