The gory, acid-trip that is Hotline Miami returns in Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number, and a new trailer released today shows that the sequel will be all guns and a lot more gore. Dennaton Games, the developer of the series, have released a new trailer for it entitled ‘Dial Tone’, showing new characters laying waste to several pixelated gangsters in extreme fashion, with dual wielded weapons firing in opposite directions like something out of Devil May Cry. If you’ve got a weak stomach and an aversion to bright colors, then this trailer isn’t for you. For everyone else, enjoy the madness that is Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number.
Dennaton Games will be at Pax East and will bring a new demo of Hotline Miami 2 along with them, which will feature the new characters. The game’s creator Dennis Wedin called this game the “grand finale” for the series and it has been in development since the release of the original game in 2012. Hotline Miami was a top down action game with severe, unforgiving difficulty and a disturbing story of violence in a world of drugs and gangsters. Its sequel, Wrong Number, looks to expand on the groundwork laid in the original, while adding new features such as the ability to roll, dual wield and perform new executions. The game is set to release in Q3 2014 for PC, PS4 and PS Vita.
