Tom Clancy’s The Division is an upcoming third-person tactical shooter action role-playing video game developed by Ubisoft Massive, that was displayed at E3 2013 last year under the Tom Clancy brand for the Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. As of late, we’ve been getting updates on the project from Ubisoft Massive; therefore the sudden post on Ubisoft’s blog announcing that they’d be developing the game alongside Red Storm came as quite the surprise.

The post alludes to the idea that Ubisoft Massive had been looking into seeking a potential partner for some time, “While Massive is running the development of The Division – building everything from their proprietary Snowdrop engine powering the game, to the design of the world, the innovative gameplay systems and the intriguing story – the Swedish studio began to seek out additional Ubisoft studio support last fall. Red Storm was naturally at the top of their list, simply based on their long history with Clancy game,” commented the post. Ubisoft Massive was able to retain their first pick as well, getting into a symbiotic partnership with a studio who’s had a long run-in with projects similar to Tom Clancy’s The Division.

Ubisoft goes on to comment about the numerous concerns around the idea of co-developing the first-person shooter, “You might even wonder about any possible tensions that could naturally arise on a global team involving multiple studios around the world.”  Reasoned the game development team. “The good news: no such tensions exist. At all. Especially when it comes to the recent addition of Red Storm to The Division’s global development team led by Massive Entertainment,” concluded the optimistic reproach. Since the game’s development using the Snowdrop Engine was five-years in the making, the team at Ubisoft Massive were open with their attempt to create an experience like no other in Tom Clancy’s The Division.

If you missed out on the gameplay trailer that was revealed at E3 last year, take a moment to review the footage below.

One of the reasons that Ubisoft Massive admitted to seeking out Red Storm for is their ability to construct and create numerous authentic weapon models. Which means we can definitely look forward to a lot of enhanced goodies in the future from the fruition of this withstanding partnership.

We’ll keep you updated as to what is going on in the near future with Red Storm and Ubisoft Massive’s dual effort to bring us Tom Clancy’s The Division. Although it the game itself has yet to receive an official release date most sources are pointing to the latter half of 2014.
