Ubisoft isn’t aiming for relative success with Watch Dogs, they are aiming straight for the top. Ubisoft’s Wayne Greenwell talked to MCV, claiming that this game will top the charts for months to come after its release. Greenwell shows a lot of confidence in the game as he makes the following statements: “Excitement for the product remains incredibly high and gamers are desperate to finally get their hands on the title,” says Greenwell. “This is reflected in our pre-orders which are hugely promising for a new IP and highlights the enthusiasm that has surrounded the product since it was first unveiled to the world.” As you can see, he doesn’t shy away from praising the game’s hype and he believes that the fans are really eager for its release.
“With Watch Dogs, Ubisoft is building a new blockbuster brand to stand alongside other top tier triple-A titles and we expect it to be not only one of the best selling new IPs in recent memory, but also one of the best selling titles throughout 2014.”, Greenwell mentions. Ubisoft is fully confident that Watch Dogs will come out swinging, both financially and critically. It’s very ambitious and we’ll have to wait for its release to see if it stands up. Ubisoft is leading the charge in the next gen lately with several of its titles already on the way, including The Crew, The Division and Assassin’s Creed Unity.
