[dropcap size=dropcap]I[/dropcap]f you’re a gamer who loves open-word action RPGs along the likes of Fallout 3 and you also happen to be a game developer looking for work, well, then you can literally hit two stones with a single bird. There is absolutely no doubt that Fallout 4 has really become the most talked about game after GTA 5 and Call of Duty: Ghosts.
The charm of Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas from developer Bethesda Game Studios has still not faded into oblivion (see the pun there?) yet! All those who played and completed the 100+ hour campaign of Fallout 3, including me of course, are still craving for some more of the wasteland to wander about and do some monster-killing.
The latest bit of news comes as a pleasant surprise that seems to be heading in the right direction, for both the developers and us consumers. There have been at least eight new positions that have been announced on the jobs page of ZeniMax media.
And why should you be interested in ZeniMax media? That’s because the publisher Bethesda Softworks, LLC, happens to be a subsidiary of ZeniMax and… you get the picture! But all jokes aside the open positions as advertised for Bethesda Game Studios are as follows:
Quest Designer
Concept Artist
Game Programmer
Level Designer
Character Artist
Future Generation Console Programmer
User Interface Designer
Senior World Artist
Paying close attention to the job descriptions, we can find out the future steps that Bethesda is supposed to be taking. Like for the post of Future Console Programmer, the description reads “experienced programmers to work on cutting-edge technology for an unannounced RPG on future-generation consoles.”
Now you don’t have to be Einstein to read that the RPG is going to be Fallout 4 and that it’s arriving on next-gen consoles like the PS4 and Xbox One. Furthermore, all the positions indicate that having experience playing previous Bethesda-developed games is a strong plus. This undoubtedly indicates that the next game will be based on one of their past franchises, or Fallout to be precise.
We can only speculate on this bit of news, however, having 8 new hires by Bethesda is not just plain coincidence. In the coming days, we may even get some sort of an announcement in the form of a release date from the developer if we’re lucky. Let’s all pray we are lucky enough to hear that. As usual leave your thoughts below.
