Download Red Orchestra 2, a great FPS, completely free on Steam

It never hurts to be reminded that PC gaming is still as great as it has always been. What’s better than getting a great game, completely free, out of the blue? If you hurry up, you can take advantage of a limited time offer and grab Red Orchestra 2: Heroes of Stalingrad completely free from Steam. The offer ends at 10 AM Pacific time, so there’s not much time left. Still, all you need to do to grab it is jump on Steam and select it from the shopping cart. Once you’ve done that, you can leave the downloading for whenever you feel like it. Still, we recommend you download the game, because it might really surprise you.

Red Orchestra 2 was launched several years ago. Let’s get it out right from the start, it had terrible singleplayer. The AI (both hostile and friendly) was atrocious, and you really couldn’t get into the story either. Play as a Russian, you get to kill Nazis. Play as a Nazi, you get to kill Russians. Pretty straightforward. However, Red Orchestra 2 shines with its amazing multiplayer. It’s one of the most punishing and realistic WW2 FPS games out there, and it’s massive fun. One stray bullet can kill you, and because the maps are huge, you never really know where death might be coming from.

Apart from that, the game does look great, even by today’s standards. It’s certainly not lacking in visual details, and the level design is impeccable. Overall, you have nothing to lose, especially given the fact that it’s still free. If you like it, consider the expansion packs for it too. If you don’t, well, you never paid for it anyway, so just uninstall it. But we reckon many of you will fall in love with it, and for good reason. So get on Steam, look for Red Orchestra 2 and get downloading.
