The Ukrainian game studio 4A Games (developers behind Metro:2033 and Metro: Last Light) is getting a new studio, which will act as a new headquarters. In addition, the company also announced that they have new, un-discussed Metro titles in the works.
The new studio will be opened in Malta. “”By basing our new headquarters in Malta, a member state of the EU, 4A Games will be able to better compete on the international stage” said Dean Sharpe, who now joins the board of 4A Games as CEO and Head of Business Development. “Malta offers fantastic incentives for game development, and we are confident 4A Games will be able to attract the very best talent from Ukraine, Malta and beyond.””
4A Games also has announced that a new, unannounced game is currently under development. The game is to be set in the Metro universe, and will be powered by the powerful 4A Engine. These projects are different from the announced Metro Redux, which is set to for next-gen consoles, according to Metro publisher Deep Silver. More info about Metro Redux will be announced in the near future. No word on when details for the other Metro projects will be released.
