Diablo 3: Ultimate Evil Edition Coming To Consoles This August

by GH Staff
Diablo 3: Ultimate Evil Edition comes to consoles on Aug. 19.

Blizzard has tried porting their PC games over to consoles before, but with very little success…Looking at you, StarCraft 64. Fortunately, the company has since learned from past mistakes, and have released an outstanding console version of Diablo 3, along with the Reaper of Souls expansion.

Earlier this week, Activision Blizzard announced that a new bundle will come to not just the current/last-gen consoles, but the Xbox One and PS4 as well. Diablo 3: Ultimate Evil Edition contains the base game, along with the Reaper of Souls DLC expansion together in one package. While the versions of Diablo 3 for Xbox 360 and PS3 have been available for purchase since last September, this announcement marks the upcoming release of the title for Xbox One and PS4. As an added bonus, those who currently own a copy on the PS3 or Xbox 360 will be able to transfer their characters into the Xbox One and PS4 versions at launch.

Diablo 3: Ultimate Evil Edition will also include support for online and offline four-player multi-player sessions. After the announcement of the PS4 version last year, it was revealed that Diablo 3 would have console-exclusive elements not seen in the PS3, 360 or PC copies. The PS4 version will have a 1080p presentation, running at 60fps. A variant from the PC version, players can navigate their Inventory by using the DualShock 4’s touch-pad. Due to the power of the PS4 over the PS3, loading times will be shorter, lighting will give off realistic shading, and there will be a higher enemy-density in each area of the game.

Diablo 3: Ultimate Evil Edition will release for Xbox 360, PS3, Xbox One and PS4 on August 19. The next-gen versions will cost $59.99, while the current-gen ones will run at $39.99. PC owners can purchase Reaper of Souls as a stand-alone product for $39.99.
