Rare Consideres Next Project For Xbox One

by GH Staff

Since Microsoft announced they would be shipping an Xbox One bundle without the Kinect, it seems Rare have been racking their brains as to what their next title should involve. The company has created  a string of games specifically designed to coincide with the motion-sensor features available for Kinect, these include Kinect Sports, Kinect Sports: Season 2, and the more recently released Kinect Sports Rivals. Xbox head, Phil Spencer has confirmed with Official Xbox Magazine that Microsoft are still working closely with Rare in regards to future games, as follows:

I think I’ve heard a few times from people asking about Rare – they’re in the process of evaluating what they want to do next, and we’re working closely with them to see what their new project will be.

Spencer goes on to discuss the freedom Rare have allegedly had whilst working with Microsoft and encourages the company to explore all routes:

So they’re free to look at all different kinds of opportunities, they always have been, and we’re having a great time trying to work out with them what their next game might be, but we have nothing to announce right now.

Although there will be new Xbox One bundles without the Kinect, developing the motion-sensor peripheral further will still take place, perhaps with little or no help from Rare this time around. What would you like to see Rare pursue in the future?
