Far Cry 4

Numerous sources have pointed to Alex Hutchinson, the creative director of Assassin’s Creed 3, as the new director for Far Cry 4. Before working at Ubisoft, Hutchinson worked on Maxis’ Spore and Army of Two. For those out of the loop, Far Cry 4 was officially announced earlier this week. The game is releasing November 18 for Xbox 360. Xbox One, Playstation 3, Playstation 4, and PC. Ubisoft declined to comment on Hutchinson’s involvement, and also did not mention a current rumor regarding Drive composer Cliff Martinez, and if he would be involved with Far Cry 4.

E3 is just around the corner so we can definitely expect more Far Cry 4 news in June. Chances are we will get to see a gameplay trailer and learn more about the team involved. Until then we can only speculate about who will be part of the development team. We already know that Far Cry 4 will take place in Kyrat, a fictitious Himalayan region that is ruled by an “despotic self-appointed king”. Kyrat acts as a unique step away from the jungle region of Far Cry 3,  There hasn’t been any footage revealed of the game other than the teaser image showing two characters.

Army of Two and Spore are not exactly the highest acclaimed titles. Assassin’s Creed 3 is also well known for its various glitches and other flaws. Hopefully Hutchinson will only serve to better Far Cry 4 and make some positive changes to the series. We will be bringing you all the latest updates regarding Far Cry 4 during its development, and we’ll have lots of awesome news for you coming out of E3. Leave a comment letting us know if you’re excited for Far Cry 4 and it Alex Hutchinson’s involvement in the game excites or worries you. E3 is less than a month away, and we couldn’t be more excited!
