Thanks to an accidental posting on Uplay, we’ve been given a short description of Far Cry 4’s story. The blurb on Uplay read as follows:
Hidden in the majestic Himalayas lies Kyrat, a country steeped in tradition and violence. You are Ajay Ghale. Traveling to Kyrat to fulfill your mother’s dying wish, you find yourself caught up in a civil war to overthrow the oppressive regime of dictator Pagan Min.

The setting of the new Far Cry was confirmed from the announcement last week. It seems that this time we’re jumping out of the shoes of the scared tourist Jason Brody to an all new protagonist taking on an all new environment. Far Cry 3 was critically acclaimed for its level of depth and exploration, as well as the engaging plot with believable characters. Far Cry 4 will hopefully take this even further and keep the trend going strong, this time with the next gen consoles leading the way. A quote from Dan Hay on the Ubisoft blog reads: “Following the success of Far Cry 3, we wanted to take the franchise to the next level and create a game that will surprise players and exceed fans’ expectations.”
Far Cry 4 launches in November for PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360 and PC.
