Prescription For Sleep Now Available

by GH Staff

A compilation of “game music lullabies” has been released – it features memorable video game songs that are designed to send the listener to sleep due to the ambient and relaxing songs available. Generally designed to help babies sleep, there’s no reason why adults shouldn’t take advantage of this soundtrack.

This isn’t just a mix of songs ripped straight from their respective game, rather a set of covers so to speak by composer Norihiko Hibino, perhaps most well known for his efforts on games such as Metal Gear Sold 4: Guns of the Patriots and his live performances at Video Games Live. Ayako Higuchi also offers her musical talents, providing numerous piano sections.

The tracks include the likes of ‘Lifestream’ from Final Fantasy VII, ‘Dier, Dier Docks’ from Super Mario 64, ‘Lost Painting’ from Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, and many others – the entire list can be viewed on the official Prescription For Sleep website. It currently costs a minimum of $10 and is only available to download with no physical copy foreseeable in the future – there is the option to pay up to $100 as it is being promoted as a ‘Pay What You Want’ scheme.

Could you see yourself or indeed your child falling asleep to video game music? As always, comment below.
