Yesterday, EA released a six minute long preview for the upcoming EA Sports UFC, and finally gave fans a solid look at the title’s gameplay. The video, available on EA Sports’ YouTube channel, showcases one round of action between current Lightweight champ Anthony ‘Showtime’ Pettis and Featherweight king Jose Aldo.
The video showcases significant amounts of stand-up fighting, with a shorter amount of time occurring in grappling scenarios on the mat. Fighter animations look fluid and lifelike, the commentary is about as good as you can expect from a game, but not quite the same as the real deal, and the ambient sounds are great too.
Although only one round, fans of the UFC and fighting games can look forward to more of these videos in the coming week. The video, titled ‘EA SPORTS UFC Gameplay Series – Jose Aldo vs. Anthony Pettis’, clearly indicates that there will be further demonstrations of the game to come. My bet is on different weight classes and fighter styles, as to truly show off the variety offered in EA Sports UFC.
EA Sports UFC is set for release on June 17, 2014, and will be available on PS4 and Xbox One.
