Space Hulk: Deathwing Screenshots Revealed

The very first Space Hulk videogame came about back in 1993, and it was a tactical shooter for the Amiga and PC-98 – published by Electronic Arts, too. It had a sequel that came out a couple of years later, entitled Space Hulk: Vengeance of the Blood Angels.

The first Warhammer 40,000 first-person shooter was with Fire Warrior, a fairly alright game that focused more on one of the newer races to the Warhammer 40,000 universe – the Tau – instead of the hulking Space Marines you’d expect to play as in a 40k title (though they were in that game, too).

Now, new screenshots have been revealed of the latest Space Hulk and Warhammer 40,000 first-person shooter: Space Hulk: Deathwing. Like how Space Hulk and Vengeance of the Blood Angels featured the Dark Angels and the Blood Angels respectively, the Dark Angels will revisiting Space Hulk in this latest addition to the series.

Based on the classic Space Hulk board game, Space Hulk: Deathwing will be developed with the Unreal Engine 4 by Streum On Studio, the guys behind E.Y.E: Divine Cybermancy, and it’ll be published by Focus Home Interactive.

Typical of a Space Hulk game, you’ll be playing in a first-person perspective whilst navigating exceptionally tight corridors and fending off Genestealers, a ferocious alien from the Tyranid race.

You’ll be part of a Terminator squad, a team of tanks on legs, and it’ll be your job to eradicate the Genestealers from the Space Hulk you’ve boarded and obtain whatever it is the mission requires you to acquire. Specifically, you’ll be playing as a Librarian, an exceptionally powerful individual who – in our world – possess psychic powers to be utilized for devastating effects.

Featuring a leveling system, you’ll be able to upgrade your skills, gain new abilities and receive access to new equipment thanks to experience earned whilst missioning. Depending on your performance with each mission, you’ll be rewarded with Fervor Points, which you’ll then be able to use on four skill trees.

The new screens have been included below, along with the game’s teaser trailer.
