Steam Release Date Set For Final Fantasy III

by GH Staff

The remake of Final Fantasy III will be available to purchase through Steam very soon – May 27 to be exact, and will cost $15.99. Originally released on the Famicom, the game didn’t see a release outside of Japan until 2006, in which a remade version was made for the Nintendo DS, sporting 3D graphics and a brand new opening cutscene featuring full motion video – unheard of when comparing to the original.

Since then, a number of ports have been available on iOS, Android, PSP, and more. The Steam release will contain a number of new features, including updated graphics and visuals, Steam Trading Cards, Steam Achievements, an easy to navigate bestiary showcasing all of the monsters players have encountered throughout the game as well as other statistic records.

Players engage in battle with a trio of Bombs – a staple enemy in the Final Fantasy franchise. Notice the different job classes, including Red Mage, White Mage,  Thief, and Monk.

Final Fantasy III introduced different job classes – a newly introduced feature in the series so far. This allows players to mix up their playstyle through experimenting with the various job classes available – eventually advanced classes would become available, giving room for a highly strong party. This is the perfect chance to get your teeth into one of the earlier Final Fantasy titles, and considering the amount of extra goodies you get upon purchase, it would be a shame to miss.
