Bethesda Reveal BattleCry Along With Trailer and Screenshots

by GH Staff

Bethesda Softworks has revealed their first project coming from the newly formed BattleCry studios based in Austin, Texas. The newly announced game is actually also called BattleCry, and will feature up to 32 players online engaging in deathmatch-like combat in a competitive environment. A trailer (see below) has accompanied the announcement, showcasing a beautiful artstyle as well as a visually striking sequence displaying two teams violently taking each other out through the use of swords, crossbows, daggers, metal fists, and so forth.

The game takes place in various WarZones, in which each faction must represent their nation and take on anyone who opposes them. Players will be able to build up their character through the ranking system, in which new abilities are unlocked allowing for advanced gameplay. A beta is to take place in 2015, however no exact date has been given as of yet – more details on the game are to emerge at this year’s E3 event. BattleCry will be free to play and whilst no information has been given regarding which systems it will be available on, the beta will be on PC so we do know it’s PC-bound for the time being. A set of screenshots have also been revealed:

1

A group of players slicing into each other, resulting in pools of blood surrounding them. A ranger can be seen in the distance trying to pick off enemies without risking actual contact, whilst other players engage in brutal melee combat.

2

One of the WarZones decorated with the color red – it’s highly possible this is the red team’s base, in which they might have to defend in objective game types.

3

A player decapitates another, resulting in an entertaining image of a head flying through the air. Loads of blood too.

4

Numerous paths will make for multiple methods of navigating the maps.
