Announced in a press release published on Monday, June 2, the word’s largest music label that’s dedicated to videogame remixes GameChop has released a new album dedicated to Mario’s Jurassic companion.
Aptly titled “Year of the Yoshi“, the album features 11 remixes of original tracks from Yoshi-included games such as Yoshi’s Island, Mario Kart, Super Mario Galaxy, and the original Yoshi for the NES. Featuring the likes of Mega Ran (aka “Random”), an American rapper and prolific chiptune musician, the album has been in production since 2012.
Aside from Mega Ran, the Year of the Yoshi album also features Dj CUTMAN, Ben Briggs, Grimecraft, ABSRDST, and Kubbi. Multimedia producer Kevin Villecco also directed the album’s production.
GameChop has put out 35 releases in just two years, all of which dedicated to videogame remixes, and this album is no exception. The album itself has a musical range of upbeat house music to futuristic EDM hiphop – a preview of such has been embedded below.
The album is now selling for $7 (or your regional equivalent) and can be purchased via Loudr of iTunes.
