Defense Grid 2's Co-op Mode to be Unveiled at E3

As announced in a press release published on Tuesday, June 3, the cooperative gamemode of the highly anticipated sequel to 2008’s hit tower defense game Defense GridDefense Grid 2, will be showcased at this year’s E3.

After premiering Defense Grid 2’s singleplayer mode to high priase at this year’s PAX East in April, E3 attenedees will have their chance to take a sneak peak at the game’s co-op mode on both the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4.

The co-op mode’s demonstration will take place on the planet Correl, which has been ravaged by seismic and volcanic activity. To top it off, the planet’s settlements have been destroyed by an alien invasion.

In the demo, players must work together to divert the aliens away from their objectives (aka “cores”) and utilize the Command Shuttle to adjust available areas to build defense towers upon to protect the cores.

Defense Grid 2 is slated to release this Fall for PC, Mac, Linux, Xbox One and PlayStation 4. Representatives from the game’s developer, Hidden Path Entertainment, will be available to demo the game’s co-op mode. You’ll be able to find them at the 505 Games suite above the Concourse Level at E3. A Kickstarter funding campaign for Defense Grid 2 began back in August, 2012, and it successfully surpassed its goal of $250,000 with a total of $271,726 and 6,291 backers.
