Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel Releases

Revealed on PlayStation.Blog, Gearbox Software’s content editor Andrew Goldfarb announced that the upcoming latest addition to the Borderlands franchise, Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, will be launching on Tuesday, October 14, 2014 on PlayStation 3 in North America.

The team here at Gearbox has been hard at work along with our buddies over at 2K Australia thanks to a lot of international flights and late night phone calls,” Goldfarb expressed in the announcement, “and we all think you’ll find a lot to love on Pandora’s moon.

Accompanying the announcement was a brand new – and humorous – trailer, which showcases the game’s various enemies, monsters, weapons and characters to name a few. To top it off, the trailer also features a few seconds of dubstep moon dancing – courtesy of Harmonix.

International release of Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel will be on Friday, October 17 (also for the PlayStation 3).

Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel takes place between the events of Borderlands and Borderlands 2. With four new Vault Hunters, Borderlands 2’s boss Wilhelm, Nisha, Athena (from Borderland’s Secret Armory of General Knoxx” DLC), and – of course – Claptrap.

Even with this announcement, apparently there’s still more to be revealed about Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, and more videos of the game should be coming soon during this year’s E3.

We have a lot of cool surprises still to come, so whether you’ve played Borderlands in the past or want to try out the franchise for the first time, we hope you’ll join us in exploring the moon and everything that comes with it,” Goldfarb added. “Some new videos should be coming just next week, so keep an eye out during E3… and beyond!
