Sony has announced the third entry within the sandbox platformer series; LittleBigPlanet 3 will be coming to PS4 in November 2014. The reveal was accompanied with a trailer and a short 5 minute in-game demonstration of what players can expect upon release. Both videos can be seen below. Returning is Sackboy, who has gained a few extra perks such as being able to climb, alter the environment around him, and wield items. Three new characters will be joining in this time around, including:
Swoop: has the ability to fly, making those hard to reach places much more accessible.
Oddsock: has the ability to wall jump, meaning he is able to continuously jump from wall to wall if the environment has the appropriate architecture.
Toggle: has the ability to physically change his size, ultimately being able to squish himself into tight places and so forth.
During the demonstration, it is promised the game has more depth than the series has ever seen before, for example players will be able to transition between different layers within the environment. It seems a lot of puzzle elements are involved judging from the demo, which in turn should promote co-operative gameplay. Something else to note is that levels created in LittleBigPlanet 1 and 2 can be played in LittleBigPlanet 3.
