Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed: Pirates will release on December the 5th on iOS and Android.
The game will cost around $4,99. Other currencies are yet to be revealed. The game was announced in September and will set players in the shoes of little tablet pirates, each with their own ship and with a crew. The game is created by Ubisoft Paris and the studio built a new 3D engine from scratch, specially designed for the game.

For the people who didn’t know
The story is set a year after Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag. It’s not a direct sequel to it but more of a side-story. It’s about the secret treasure of the infamous pirate Olivier ‘La Buse’ Levasseur. Funny thing is that this is not a fictional story, the story-line being based on historical facts. The mystery is real including the cryptogram. To this day the mystery is yet to be solved.
Through memories of Alonzo Batilla, a young ambitious pirate and old acquaintance of La Buse, players have the option to solve the mystery, which (again) a lot of Templars are going to prevent you from accomplishing.
The game is an open world game which is based on naval warfare. During your exploration of the Caribbean sea you will encounter many competing pirate ships which you will need to stop. Being on the boat, you will play in third-person or first-person perspective, the camera automatically shifting from a spectacular boat-against-boat battle view to a tremendous side-view. A few simple touches on your screen will unleash your firepower against opponents.
While you are discovering a diversity of islands, you will be receiving experience points and collecting several treasures. Your wealth can be used to put fresh and better crews on your ship or to buy new weapons.

During the presentation of this game, something became very clear: graphically, this is a masterpiece! Lightning strikes, wavy water and beautifully detailed ships are all part of the package. This is a very good endorsement for their game launch as well as their new engine. Because of the high quality of the graphics this game is recommended to be played from one of the newer smartphones and tablets.
However the Ubisoft confirms that the app will be compatible with older generation mobile devices. The exact minimal requirements for running the app are unknown at this time, but from the looks and options of this game, I can definitely say it will require some above average hardware.
Serious
Assassin’s Creed: Pirates is going to be released on the 5th of December and will be given a fixed price, which, according to an inside source, will be around $5. Ubisoft made promises to constantly update the game and is raising the stakes high on this one. It is a shame we can’t see it in action yet, though. However, it’s clear that this is going to be a really serious mobile game that we all need to keep our eyes on.
