[dropcap size=dropcap]I[/dropcap]f you are a Lego fan and also a fan of the Lord of The Rings and The Hobbit movies, you have yet another reason to rejoice. TT Games are developing a new title, Lego The Hobbit. The story will revolve around the characters and the events from the first two movies of the trilogy, The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey and The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug, which will arrive in Cinemas later this year.

Lego The Hobbit will preserve the funny and accessible gameplay style made available in the previous Lego titles. Thus, players will have the opportunity to walk in the shoes of their most beloved heroes and characters or fight side by side with them. There are many interesting character names that were mentioned by the producers such as: Bilbo, Gandalf, Thorin, Fíli, Kíli, Óin, Glóin, Dwalin, Balin Bifur, Bofur, Bombur, Dori, Nori and Ori. Each of these characters will have their own special abilities. For example, Bombur will be able to use his supersized belly as a trampoline. Popular locations from the movie will also be available in the game, such as:  Bag End, Hobbiton, Misty Mountains, Goblin-town, Mirkwood or Rivendell. Of course, each of these locations will be crawling with enemies and dangers like orcs and trolls.

“We are thrilled to depict the characters and environments of Peter Jackson’s Middle-earth in LEGO form with the LEGO The Hobbit videogame,” said Tom Stone, Managing Director, TT Games. “Our family-friendly take on these thrilling adventures will have kids and parents playing and laughing together as they build and explore in LEGO Middle-earth.”

According to the official press release, “LEGO The Hobbit is currently being developed by TT Games and expands on the play themes introduced in the brand new LEGO The Hobbit toy collection”. Warner Bros. will launch LEGO The Hobbit during next spring for all the major gaming platforms including PC, Mac, Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, Nintendo Wii U and Nintendo 3DS.
