Super Mario Sunshine sequel may be an actual thing

In a recent interview between Nintendo’s Takashi Tezuka and NZGamer.com, Tezuka expressed an interest in creating a sequel to Super Mario Sunshine.

Question: “…I have a question just for myself as a big fan of a multitude of games Tezuka-san has worked on. Is there any hope for a Mario Sunshine sequel or a 3DS remake of Majora’s Mask?”

Tezuka then responded, “This is my personal opinion, let’s start with that.” He then went on, “I mean, of course I wish we could. I personally would like to enjoy those again but I don’t have any information.”

This isn’t the first time someone over at Nintendo has said they would like a sequel to Super Mario Sunshine, either. Charles Martinet, the voice of Mario, has also said that he would like for a return of Super Mario Sunshine. A while back at San Diego Comic Con, a fan revealed that their favorite game was Super Mario Sunshine, to which Martinet responded “I love that game. I’m ready for F.L.U.D.D. pack to come back.”

For those that don’t know, Super Mario Sunshine was a game released for the Nintendo Gamecube in 2002. Super Mario Sunshine was the first game that had Mario using an accessory to complete his objectives. In this case, it was the F.L.U.D.D.,  basically a pack that sprayed water as either a cannon or jetpack.

So, what do you guys think? Would you like to see the return of Super Mario Sunshine? Or would you like Nintendo to leave the game alone? Leave your thoughts below! And remember, stay tuned to Gamer Headlines for all of you Super Mario Sunshine and gaming news!
