Xbox One Games Crash to Dashboard Issue : Fix found

[dropcap size=dropcap]L[/dropcap]ately, the reports about games crashing to the dashboard or video games failing to load were more and more visible on the Xbox Official forums:

“I had no issues with my Xbox one yesterday, everything was working just fine. Now today when I’m playing the console NBA 2K14 randomly crashes and returns to the dashboard,” a concerned user said.

“Haven’t had any disc drive troubles or long load times or anything like that with the Xbox One yet, but the one thing that irks me to no end is the sudden random stopping of a game in progress. We only have battlefield 4 right now so I don’t know if it happens with other games, but whilst playing the game will just randomly stop at times and send us to the home screen and then takes a few minutes to be restarted again. Is anyone else having this issue and if so is there a fix for it?” said another.

And the list may continue but I guess the point was made.

Luckily for us and for all other owners of an Xbox One device, a YouTube user called GODtheSniper has found the solution to the games crashing to dashboard issue. Fortunately, it is not complicated to solve it on your own. All you have to do is to turn off the console completely. You may be able to do this by holding down the power button for up to 15 seconds or by unplugging the power cord.

The problem seems to have been caused by the inability of the console to completely flush the memory when it goes into power saving mode and back. Thus, the RAM memory becomes over-saturated after a few days of intensive gameplay and therefore, games crash without notice. While the issue is quite annoying, it may be easily solved if you follow GODtheSniper’s advice. By turning the Xbox One completely off, the device will go through a complete reboot, flushing the RAM memory complete. Of course, you may have to redo this process over and over again but still, you will be able to play your favorite games without any other issues.
